The emphasis in Science is on learning through practical experiences.\u00a0 We teach the children to work and think scientifically using the skills of observation, communication, interpretation and experimental design.\u00a0 The children are expected to handle materials and use equipment, both individually and in groups, encouraging active participation.\u00a0 The content and nature of the selected activities in all years are planned to follow the requirements of the National Curriculum.<\/p>\n
Children are encouraged to ask questions and predict outcomes before making their scientific investigations.\u00a0 Work is recorded in a variety of ways, orally as well as in writing.\u00a0 Children’s language skills will be developed in the Science lessons and they will have the opportunity to apply aspects of Mathematics in a scientific situation.\u00a0 Wherever possible, the work in Science will draw upon and support work in other subject areas.<\/p>\n
