There may be a time when you feel you need to request leave for your child during term time. For all planned term time absence we ask that you complete the form below and forward to our school office. The request will be processed and passed to Mr Snell, our Headteacher for consideration on whether the absence is for an exceptional reason to take your children out of school and we will respond accordingly. Please be advised that this can take up to a week. Please click here for Request for Leave during Term Time form.
In line with government plea for parents not to take children out of school during term time, we do encourage parents to book family holidays during school holidays. Please find below a link to Worcestershire County Council where you will find further information regarding school absence and how it can affect children. Should you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20062/schools/125/absence_from_school
Our attendance support in school is Mrs Rees, Mrs Rancins, Deputy Headteacher and Designated Safeguarding lead and Mr Harrison. Should you need advice, please do not hesitate to contact us.
For any medical appointments, please ensure you send a copy of the appointment to our school office prior to the day of appointment. Copy of appointment letters are stored on your child’s records with absences recorded on their record. For routine dental or eye appointments, please ensure these are made outside of your child’ school day. Should appointments regularly impact on your child’s learning, a meeting may be arranged to discuss the absences.
On days that your child is too unwell to attend school, we ask that you report the absence each day to our school office by 9.15am. This allows us to be accurate on reporting who is absent from school and allowing us to identify who has not made it to school even though expected. You can report an absence by either emailing us 24/7 via our absence link on our home page or by leaving a message on our absence line 0121 445 1033.
With the aim of supporting our pupils, should a pattern of absence become apparent, we will notify parents to ensure they are well informed of their child’s attendance record. This can greatly assist identifying any issues either medically or possibly with school.
Our aim is to ensure your child receives the education and school experience they are entitled to. This is possible through regular school attendance. Our class teachers, Head of Year and Senior Leadership Team are here to support your child with attendance. Your child is legally expected to attend and maintain regular school attendance.
